Dow Jones Launches Private Equity Database

Dow Jones Financial Information Services has announced the launch of Private Equity Source, a database for tracking buyout and growth transactions in the U.S. and Europe.

The database will include three years worth of deal data for approximately 7,700 private equity-backed companies and 1,800 investment firms.

“By giving users the power to search and vet deal opportunities by their own custom criteria, we’re reducing the amount of time and resources normally required in the due diligence process,” said Scott Schulman, president of Dow Jones Financial Information Services. “But what really sets Private Equity Source apart is its comprehensive, accurate, up-to-date data.”

Features of Private Equity Source include comprehensive profiles that offer details on firms and portfolio companies, key contacts of senior personnel at those firms, lender and service provider details and analytic tools that provide sector benchmarking.

The database will be launched at a private event in New York this Thursday, May 15.
