Dreyfus to Launch Global, Alternative Funds-of-Funds

Dreyfus is planning to launch two funds-of-funds, the Dreyfus Diversified Global Fund and the Dreyfus Satellite Alpha Fund. The diversified global fund seeks long-term capital appreciation by investing in six of Dreyfus’ other funds, including those tied to equity income, real estate, sustainability investments, worldwide growth, global alpha and global equities.

The satellite alpha fund also seeks long-term capital appreciation, but in its case, it will invest in alternative and non-traditional asset categories that have a lower correlation with the U.S. stock and bond markets. The seven Dreyfus funds this fund-of-fund will invest in cover the following strategies: absolute return, inflation-adjusted securities, international bonds, natural resources and debt and stock in emerging markets.

Phillip N. Maisano, Richard B. Hoey and William J. Reilley will be the portfolio managers of the two funds.
