Equity Funds Suffer Outflows

Total estimated inflows to long-term mutual funds were $1.48 billion for the week ended Wednesday, May 29, according to the Investment Company Institute.

Equity funds had estimated outflows of $1.00 billion for the week, compared to estimated inflows of $2.63 billion in the previous week. Domestic equity funds had estimated outflows of $1.71 billion, while estimated inflows to world equity funds were $707 million.

Hybrid funds had estimated inflows of $1.13 billion for the week, compared to estimated inflows of $1.39 billion in the previous week.

Bond funds had estimated inflows of $1.36 billion, compared to estimated inflows of $4.13 billion during the previous week. Taxable bond funds saw estimated inflows of $1.58 billion, while municipal bond funds had estimated outflows of $216 million.
