ETF Redemptions Top $10 Billion in June

In June, U.S. exchange-traded fund outflows topped $10 billion, as investors withdrew $6.2 billion from fixed income ETFs and $6 billion from emerging market ETFs, according to State Street Global Advisor’s latest ETF Snapshot report. All told, U.S. ETF assets totaled $1.42 trillion as of June 30.

However, it wasn’t all bad news because ETFs offering access to the materials sector and large cap value stocks experienced the highest inflows, totaling $1.2 billion and $1.16 billion, respectively.

At the midpoint of 2013, year-to-date ETF inflows totaled $65.5 billion – down slightly from $72.4 billion in June 2012, according to SsgA.
