ETF Securities Planning Precious Metals Basket Trust

ETF Securities has registered another precious metals exchange-traded fund with the Securities and Exchange Commission, the ETFS Precious Metals Basket Trust.

ETF Securities has already attracted more than $1 billion to its two physically backed gold and silver ETFs, the ETFS Physical Swiss Gold Shares and the ETFS Physical Silver Shares. It also recently successfully launched platinum and palladium ETFs.

The new ETF will invest in bullion based on the price of gold, silver, platinum and palladium.

Competitors Global X and First Trust also have metal ETFs in registration that will invest in mining companies’ stocks rather than in bullion. iShares, UBS, Van Eck and ALPS already offer precious metals ETFs.
