Sincere Joins F-Squared Board

Richard Sincere has joined the board of directors of F-Squared Investments, LLC.

Sincere is currently chairman and CEO of Chicago-based Sincere & Co., a third-party marketing firm. He previously worked for the Fidelity Investment Advisor Group as a senior vice president and in management positions at National Westminster Bank and Citicorp/Citibank.

"Richard Sincere is a professional of strong integrity, and brings a breadth and depth of experience that will be significant assets for F-Squared Investments, given his financial expertise and entrepreneurial know-how, both of which are key elements in our ongoing program of growth," said Howard Present, president and CEO of F-Squared.

Siciliano Promoted to Managing Partner at Grail

Grail Partners, LLC, a merchant banking firm specializing in the global investment management business, has promoted John Siciliano to managing partner. Siciliano will share the title with the firm's founder, Donald Putnam.

"John has had a profound effect on Grail, leading the recruitment of key new partners and reshaping our business practices," Putnam said. "I look forward to working closely with him in leading Grail into an exciting and dynamic time for our firm and the investment management community."

ALPS Names Kiniry to VP Sales Director Position

Mark Kiniry has joined ALPS Fund Services Inc. as vice president, national sales director, investments. He will report to Managing Director Tom Carter.

"Having Mark join the ALPS team caps a year of impressive growth, especially in the sales and marketing of closed-end and exchange traded funds to the financial advisor channel," Carter said.

Kiniry comes from Old Mutual Capital, where he recently served as divisional vice president. He previously served as national sales manager at Delaware Investments.

Gardner to Leave Merrill

Mac Gardner, head of global wealth management Americas at Merrill Lynch & Co. Inc., will leave the company Jan. 31, according to an internal memo from Robert McCann, president of global management at Merrill.

"Mac has been a valued colleague and has made significant contributions to several areas of Merrill Lynch throughout his career," McCann wrote in the memo. "Mac has been instrumental in helping us strengthen our GWM business and had a significant impact on attracting and retaining talent."

Smith Will Chair Board of Social Investment Forum

Cheryl Smith, executive vice president and senior portfolio manager at Trillium Asset Management Corp., has been named the new chair of the board of the Social Investment Forum, a national membership association for the social investment industry.

Smith replaces Tim Smith, senior vice president of Walden Asset Management, who will remain active as immediate past chair.

"In 2008, the SIF will continue to pursue a multi-faceted agenda to advance socially responsible investing, heading off any new efforts by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to tamper with shareholder rights," said SIF CEO Lisa Woll.
