Kenyon Switches From Goodwin to Dechert

Geoffrey R.T. Kenyon, who has extensive experience in working with a broad variety of investment management firms domiciled throughout the world, in addition to independent mutual fund directors, has joined Dechert as a partner in the financial services group, based in Boston. Previously, Kenyon was a partner with Goodwin Procter. A Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar at the Columbia University School of Law (J.D., 1984), he earned his B.A. from Northwestern University.

"Geoff has a sterling reputation as a very talented and experienced lawyer assisting prominent financial services firms on U.S. and international regulatory matters," said Joseph Fleming, co-chairman of Dechert's financial services group.

Mutual Fund Store Selects Agadoni as VP, Technology

Brad Agadoni has joined The Mutual Fund Store, an independent fee-based investment advisory business with 62 locations in 52 markets across the U.S., serving 42,000 clients, as vice president for information technology. A 25-year veteran of information technology, Agadoni's focus will be on upgrading the firm's IT infrastructure by providing secure and efficient operations and capabilities in multiple applications for nearly 100 advisers and 75 support personnel.

Putnam's Large-Cap CIO, Research Director Leave

Following outflows and poor performance as a result of subprime exposure in a number of Putnam Investments' biggest equity funds, relative to their peers, according to data from Morningstar, the firm's large-cap equity chief investment officer, Joshua Brooks, and director of research, Kelly Morgan, resigned abruptly last month. Kevin Cronin is handling Brooks' responsibilities on an interim basis while the firm searches for a replacement.

Putnam's total assets under management at the end of November were $85.8 billion, down 10.1% from $95.5 billion a year earlier, according to Financial Research Corp.

Three Senior Executives Join ALPS Fund Services

Sean Amann, JoEllen Legg and Dana Smith have joined ALPS Fund Services' IT, legal and tax departments, respectively.

Amann, senior manager of IT operations, was IT director for SunGard iWORKS. Eight years in the industry, Amann earned his J.D. from the Strum College of Law at the University of Denver, an M.S. in computer information systems from Regis University and a B.S. in finance from Metropolitan State College of Denver.

Associate Counsel Legg has been practicing law for nine years and comes to the firm from Adelphia Communications, where she was senior counsel. Before that, she was an associate with Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson and Patton Boggs. Legg holds a J.D., magna cum laude, from The Columbus School of Law at Catholic University of America. She also has an M.A. in Russian and European studies from George Washington University, Elliot School of International Affairs and a B.A., summa cum laude, in international affairs and government from Eastern Washington University.

Senior Tax Manager Smith was previously a tax partner with Smith Srsich Spielman & Clark. She began her career in 1988 at PriceWaterhouse. A certified public accountant, she received her B.A. from Rice University and masters in taxation from the University of Denver.
