Allianz Global Investors Taps Nancy Morris as VP

Nancy Morris recently decided to leave her role as secretary of the Securities and Exchange Commission in order to become an executive vice president at Allianz Global Investors of America.

As SEC secretary, Morris provided advice about practice and procedure and oversaw the legal review of all documents that were submitted to the Commission.

Morris, who was appointed secretary in 2006 by Chairman Christopher Cox, will take on a range of responsibilities pertaining to U.S. legal compliance in her new position.

"She has set an exemplary standard for public service on behalf of America's investors and capital markets," Cox said, adding, "We wish her every success and happiness in the next phase of her remarkable career."

Nancy Morris is a member of the District of Columbia Bar and received a J.D. from the University of Idaho College of Law and a B.A. (cum laude) from Hartwick College in Oneonta, N.Y.

LIMRA Names Marie Rice VP of Retirement Research

The international consulting and research organization LIMRA has named Marie Rice as its corporate vice president of retirement research.

LIMRA is still in a transitional period thanks to a merger with LOMA that became official earlier this year. LIMRA President and CEO Bob Kerzner said he remains optimistic not only with regards to the organization's future, but about the acquisition of Rice as well.

"Her vast experience and knowledge will be invaluable as we explore ways to bring our retirement research to the next level, an area where we want to be top of mind with our members," praised Kerzner.

From 1985 until 1987, Rice served as an associate project director for LIMRA. Most recently, she was a vice president for market insights at Fidelity Investments.

Nueberger Berman's CIO Rivkin Plans to Retire

After six years, 67-year-old Jack Rivkin will be stepping down as the chief investment officer and head of private asset management at Lehman Brothers Holdings Inc.'s Neuberger Berman LLC in order to retire in mid-July.

Alison Deans, the deputy head of private asset management, is set to become the head of private asset management and CIO and Bob Corman, a fund manager and head of research at Neuberger, will become CIO for the institutional and mutual fund business.

As for his future, Rivkin intends to stay on as a consultant to the council on climate change for Lehman Brothers and he will remain on the mutual fund board at Neuberger. His career began in 1968 and previously he was a CFO at PaineWebber and he worked at Citigroup Investments as well.

Jack Lin Leaves Franklin For Janus in Hong Kong

Denver-based Janus Capital Group named Jack Lin as the new managing director of its Asia-Pacific division - which includes offices in Singapore, Tokyo, Hong Kong, and Melbourne.

Lin is parting ways with Janus rival Franklin Resources Inc. after spending nearly a decade there. In mid-June, Lin will officially make the move to Hong Kong to take on his new position with Janus.

"With his industry relationships and expertise in entering new markets and running businesses across Asia, he will be a great asset to the firm as we continue to commit resources to expanding our Asian operations," said Erich Gerth, chief executive of Janus Capital International.
