Gabelli Eliminates the Couch Potato

Gabelli Funds, LLC of Rye, New York has changed the name of the memorable The Gabelli Global Interactive Couch Potato Fund to The Gabelli Global Growth Fund.

The fund, which was introduced February, 1994, is one of five funds that comprise the Gabelli Global Series Funds, advised by Gabelli Asset Management. The interactive couch potato fund currently has $445 million in assets under management.

It was not that the firm did not like the name of the fund, said a Gabelli spokesperson. The firm simply wanted to dispel an impression that the "Interactive" fund had something to do with the Internet, the spokesperson said.

Despite its name change, the fund will continue to invest in companies worldwide in the communications, entertainment, and media industries, he said.
