Hancock Changing Fund Names

John Hancock Funds of Boston will change the names of eight of its funds over the next few months to more clearly reflect their investment strategies.

The John Hancock Intermediate Maturity Government Fund on April 1 became the John Hancock Intermediate Government Fund. On May 1, the John Hancock Independence Equity Fund will become John Hancock Core Equity Fund, and the John Hancock Sovereign Balanced Fund will be known as the John Hancock Balanced Fund.

The remaining changes will take place June 1. Then, John Hancock Emerging Growth Fund will become John Hancock Small Cap-Growth Fund; John Hancock Special Value Fund will become John Hancock Small-Cap Value Fund; John Hancock Growth and Income Fund will be known as John Hancock Large-Cap Value Fund; John Hancock Growth Fund will become John Hancock Large-Cap Growth Fund; and John Hancock Special Opportunities Fund will become John Hancock Mid-Cap Growth Fund.
