Mark Giest has been promoted from president and chief operating officer of Montgomery Asset Management of San Francisco to chief executive officer. He succeeds Montgomery's founder, Stephen Doyle, who is remaining with the firm as chairman. In addition, the company has promoted Scott Tuck from chief marketing officer to president and David Demarest from chief administrative officer to chief operating officer.

John Hailer has been named president and chief executive officer of the New England Funds of Boston. Previously, Hailer was managing director and executive vice president at New England Funds. Hailer succeeds Bruce Speca, who is leaving to become president and chief executive officer of www.mutualfunds.com. Both New England Funds and www.mutualfunds.com are affiliates of Nvest, L.P. of Boston.

Stephen Long is now senior vice president and director of the wirehouse regional division of Delaware Distributors of Philadelphia and of Delaware Capital Management. Both are divisions of Delaware Investments. Long was previously senior managing director for U.S. retail sales at Pioneer Investment Management of Boston.

John Chase has joined First Data Investor Services Group of Westborough, Mass. as vice president of quality assurance and risk management, a new position at First Data. Chase was previously a senior risk officer at Chase Global Funds Services Company of Boston.

Christopher Brancazio has joined Friends Ivory & Sime of London as a compliance officer. He was previously the North American regional compliance officer for AIG Global Investment Corp. of New York. Brancazio will be based in Friends Ivory & Sime's New York office.
