David Seymour has been appointed national industry director for investment management services of KPMG of New York. This practice is a unit of KPMG's financial services line of business. Seymour has been with the firm for 21 years and most recently has specialized in mutual funds.

George Manning has joined John Hancock Retirement Services of Boston as national sales manager, heading sales of all of Hancock's retirement products. Manning was previously vice president for technical sales and retirement product management at Putnam Investments of Boston. Hancock has also hired two new wholesalers, reporting to Manning. They are Mark Dence and Jonathan Steiner.

Amy Errett has resigned as chairman and chief executive officer of the Spectrem Group of San Francisco, the mutual fund consulting firm she founded 10 years ago (MFMN 1/10/00), to become chief asset officer at E*Trade Group of Menlo Park, Calif. In this newly-created position at E*Trade, Errett will be responsible for developing strategic partnerships between E*Trade and other financial firms and for developing new products for wholesalers and distributors of mutual funds and other financial products.

Joe Charpentier has been promoted at AIM Fund Services of Houston, Texas from manager of the control department to vice president for systems and operations.
