Alliance Capital Management has named Bruce W. Calvert to become the firm's ceo. Calvert, who most recently served as the firm's chief investment officer, joined Alliance Capital in 1973 as a portfolio manager. Dave H. Williams, who had been Alliance's ceo since 1977, remains chairman of the board of directors. John D. Carifa will continue as president and coo. Replacing Calvert as chief of investment operations is Kathleen A. Corbet, who has been president and chief administrative officer of Alliance Fixed Income Investors.
Funds Distributor Incorporated (FDI) named Mary Michel vice president/marketing services. She joined FDI from Warburg Pincus Financial Advisors Services Group.
