Janney Montgomery Scott hired a former Morgan Stanley team that managed $473 million in client assets, according to the firm.

It’s the firm’s second team recruit in 2021 and builds on the 43 advisors Janny picked up last year.

The new group signed on in Atlanta and includes advisors Scott Phelan and Kevin Myers as well as senior registered private client associate Cindy Hions-Dayoub.

Complex manager Rick Ballou cited the team’s experience as a welcome addition to Janney’s presence in the Atlanta market.

Phelan started his career at New England Securities in 1994, according to FINRA BrokerCheck records. He later worked at Lincoln Financial Advisors and Edward Jones before moving to Morgan Stanley in 2011.

Myers started his advisory career at Morgan Stanley in 2010, according to BrokerCheck. Hions-Dayoub has more than 18 years of experience, according to Janney.

A Morgan Stanley spokesperson declined to comment.

Earlier this month, Janney hired advisor Theodore Papadopoulos from UBS. The Garden City, New York-based advisor oversaw more than $363 million in assets, according to his new employer.
