Virginia Kuper will command a team of 10 local private bankers who provide financial planning, investment, trust and banking services for high-net-worth individuals and families, the bank said in an announcement on Monday.

Kuper was previously with Wells Fargo Private Bank, where she served as a regional manager in the metropolitan New York market for more than three years, according to her LinkedIn profile. Prior to that, she held numerous senior level regional leadership positions at HSBC.

"Ginny and her team will continue to partner closely with their colleagues across the community bank as well as with professionals across KeyCorp's national corporate bank," Joseph Markey, market president for KeyBank's Hudson Valley and metro New York region, said in a statement.

Kuper's appointment follows the hiring in December of the private bank's first chief investment officer. The addition of the new officer was part of a strategy to expand and further develop the private bank's client offering, according to the president of Key Private Bank.
