Long-Term Funds Take in $8.9 Billion

Long-term mutual funds had $8.9 billion in inflows in the week ended April 6, the Investment Company Institute said Wednesday.

Equity funds had inflows of $2.44 billion for the week, compared to inflows of $1.25 billion the previous week. Domestic equity funds had outflows of $335 billion, and foreign equity funds had inflows of $2.78 billion.

Investors placed $1.24 billion into hybrid funds, down slightly from the $1.53 billion they invested in hybrid funds the week before.

Bond funds took in $5.22 billion, up considerably from the $3.09 billion the previous week. Taxable bond funds had inflows of $6.06 billion, and municipal bond funds had outflows of $847 million.
