Morgan Reels in $1B Team

Morgan Stanley enticed away a team managing $1 billion in client assets from Citi Private Bank, according to a spokeswoman for the wirehouse.

Advisors William Goettert and John Entenberg joined Morgan's office in Boca Raton, Fla., where they report to Complex Manager Bert White. While at Citi, the duo generated $5 million in annual production.

Goettert and Entenberg had been with Citi since 2010, according to FINRA BrokerCheck records. Prior to that they worked at Merrill Lynch.

Morgan also said that it had recruited advisor Louis Greif from Barclays last month. He joined the wirehouse in New York where he reports to Justin Ferdula, branch manager. While at Barclays,  Greif generated $1.25 million in annual revenue.

Greif had been at Barclays since 2013, according to BrokerCheck. Previously, he worked at UBS.

Morgan, like other wirehouses, has recruited several Barclays advisors following the announcement that the firm plans to sell its U.S. wealth management operations to St. Louis-based Stifel.

Among Morgan's recent Barclays hires in New York are Sal Diruggiero, Mary Myszkowski, Matthew Pejkovic and Louise Roaman.  All four advisors worked at Lehman Brothers prior to its acquisition by Barclays, according to FINRA records.
And in July Barclays advisor Scott Jennings joined a Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management team led by Frank Malone and Jon Neuhaus, according to the team's website. The group is based in Los Angeles.

Jennings had been with Barclays since joining the industry in 2013, according to BrokerCheck records.

A Morgan spokeswoman declined to comment on these hires.
