Morningstar Moves Into Korea

Morningstar of Chicago has announced it will offer its investment information products and analytical aids to Korean investors via its new venture, Morningstar Korea.

The new venture's website will include data, news, investment screening and portfolio building and tracking aids for Korea's stocks and mutual funds.

Softbank Finance Corp. of Tokyo and Shinheung Securities of Seoul, plan to invest $2.25 million and $4.5 million respectively in the new venture.

Morningstar Korea is Morningstar's most recent international venture. The firm started Morningstar Asia based in Hong Kong and Morningstar Europe based in London in the past month. Plans to expand elsewhere are also in progress, according to Morningstar.
