Mutual Funds Gather $180 Billion in April

Mutual fund assets inched up by $179.6 billion, or 1.3%, to $13.856 trillion in April, according to data from the Investment Company Institute.

Stock, bond, and hybrid funds had a net inflow of $28.43 billion in April, vs. an inflow of $37.96 billion in March. Stock funds posted an inflow of $3.70 billion in April, compared with an inflow of $14.84 billion in March.

Hybrid funds posted an inflow of $12.60 billion in April, compared with an inflow of $7.01 billion in March.

And bond funds had an inflow of $12.13 billion in April, compared with an inflow of $16.11 billion in March.

However, money market funds continued to bleed redeeming $24.48 billion in April, compared with an outflow of $58.25 billion in March.
