Nearly Half of Americans Find Investing Confusing

Forty-seven percent of Americans find investing confusing, and it’s particularly true for women (56%) as opposed to men (38%), according to a survey of 669 investors commissioned by Bankrate.

In addition, only 29% know how much they are paying in investment fees, and 33% manage their money on their own.

“Our survey results show that many Americans feel uncertain when it comes to investing,” said Thomas R. Evans, president and CEO of Bankrate. “The stories and content in our ‘Financial Literacy’ series are designed to educate consumers so that they have the confidence and the knowledge to make the best financial decisions,” Evans said.
