Oppenheimer Will Create New Fund Family

OppenheimerFunds of New York is creating a new fund family that will be sub-advised by Trinity Investment Management Corp. of Boston, a recent acquisition.

Trinity is using a proprietary quantitative system called the SectorPlex Core method that uses indexes and finds the best stocks to suit the fund's investment objective. The fund complex recently filed for the fund group with the SEC.

One fund will be the Oppenheimer Trinity Core Fund, which will invest in the most undervalued stocks in the S&P 500. Another fund is the Oppenheimer Trinity Growth Fund, which will invest in stocks in the S&P/Barra Growth Index. The third fund is the Oppenheimer Trinity Value Fund, which will invest in undervalued stocks in the S&P Barra Value Index.
