OppenheimerFunds Creates Communications Tools for 401(k) Sponsors, Advisers

OppenheimerFunds Retirement Services announced new resources Wednesday to help 401(k) plan participants, sponsors and advisers navigate difficult market cycles and a constantly evolving marketplace.

Sponsors now have available a customizable communications program to draw investors’ attention to the asset allocation program, Navigator, it launched six years ago. The communications encourage participants to use Navigator to make investment selections and rebalance their portfolios.

“People have a greater likelihood of engaging in the retirement process if educational materials are personalized and targeted to their specific needs,” said Gayle Leavitt, vice president of OppenheimerFunds Retirement Services. “The targeted communications promoting Navigator demonstrate our commitment to giving participants and plan sponsors resources to reach long-term retirement goals and improve participation rates.”

For advisers, Oppenheimer has developed a resume-building tool to help them showcase their capabilities to current and prospective clients. It also includes a retirement plan service and mission statement that they can customize, as well as a calendar they can present to sponsors showing a timetable for updates and services the adviser will provide over the course of a year.

OppenheimerFunds emphasized that the reason it developed these communications tools is because “recent market volatility has shaken investor confidence. Educating employees on their plan and the benefits of developing a long-term strategy has become an increased focus for plan sponsors.”
