Prudential Uses Palm Pilot

Prudential Insurance of Newark, N.J. has announced that as the result of a collaboration with Palm Computing, investors will be able to obtain information on all of the company's mutual funds using a palm pilot organizer.

The deal with Palm Computing, a subsidiary of 3Com Corporation of Santa Clara, Calif., will allow investors using the Palm VII organizer, a handheld, wireless device, to check a variety of financial data normally found on the Internet, according to Darrell Oliver, a company spokesperson.

In addition to information about mutual funds, customers can check 401k account balances and get term life insurance and stock quotes and research from Prudential Securities.
