An advisor who managed more than $2 billion in assets has left UBS, the firm confirms.

Greg Hersch was ranked as No. 7 in On Wall Street's Top 40 Under 40 in 2012. His AUM was listed as $2.06 billion. Hersch was featured on the list three consecutive times. In 2010, he ranked as No. 26 with $708 million in AUM.

A UBS spokesman declined to say where he had gone. Hersch did not return calls seeking comment. A receptionist at his UBS office said he did not know where Hersch was currently employed, but confirmed his departure.

Hersch is an advisor who has also had a brush with fame, having been photographed with his one-time girlfriend, Ivanka Trump.

Hersch had worked at UBS since 2009, according to his BrokerCheck file. Previously, he worked at Smith Barney and Bear Stearns. In a profile for the 2012 Top 40 Under 40, Hersch credited his success to being able to take the macro view.

"I am very good at seeing the bigger picture and not getting caught up in the near-term noise," Hersch says. "That allows me to avoid running into a lot of the land mines that I think advisors do in the business."

At the time, Hersch said he worked with 40 family clients, each with a net worth of $20 million or more.

"My clients come to me wealthy," he says. "My job is to keep them wealthy. So much like a doctor; first, do no harm."
