“Since opening Stephens Private Client Group office in Atlanta in 2011, we have continued to see significant growth opportunities in the area,” said Kevin Scanlon, director of the Private Client Group.

Durham's career goes back to 1980 when he started with Merrill Lynch. He has since worked for PaineWebber, Lehman Brothers and Credit Suisse, according to FINRA BrokerCheck records. He moved to Stephens after a brief stint with Wells Fargo this year, BrokerCheck records show. A spokeswoman for Wells confirmed his departure from the wirehouse.

A spokeswoman for Stephens says Durham's time with Wells ended up amounting to less than 90 days when he decided to move to the regional firm. Durham, in a statement from Stephens, said he was looking forward to being part of a team "whose culture values relationships and understands the importance of a long-term view.”
