RIA Tactical Allocation Group Appoints Chief Development Officer

Tactical Allocation Group, a registered investment advisor, has tapped investment banker Gene Katz to fill the role of Chief Development Officer.

TAG established the new position in response to increasing demand for the firm’s exchange-traded fund portfolios and other investment management services.

"We are excited to have Gene take on the duties of chief development officer in order to help manage our impressive growth. His commitment, Midwest values, and vision for the industry are a perfect fit for TAG's business strategy and customer-oriented culture," says TAG chief executive officer James F. Peters, Jr.

In his new position, Katz, 36, will be responsible for strategy and operations for corporate development and sales and will head up finance at the Birmingham, Mich.-based company.

A 12-year veteran of the financial services industry, Katz formerly worked in Chicago as an investment banker at William Blair & Co., where he specialized in mergers and acquisitions in the financial services industry and was a strategic advisor to TAG.

The firm, which oversees more than $1.5 billion in assets, has provided financial services to RIAs, broker-dealers, trusts and other institutions seeking to outsource investment management since 1988.
