SEC Appoints New Associate Director

The SEC has promoted Susan Nash from senior associate director to associate director at the division of investment management.

Nash, who has been with the commission for 11 years, will continue to focus on mutual fund disclosure and insurance product regulation. The SEC named Nash to this newly- created position "to recognize the growth and increasing importance of variable insurance products, as well as to ensure the fair advertising and after-tax disclosure of mutual funds," said Joanne Bamberger, an SEC spokesperson. "These are areas of increasing importance at the commission."

Prior to joining the commission in 1989, Nash was an attorney with Covington & Burling of Washington, where she specialized in tax, corporate and securities law.
