Sentinel Liquidates Mid-Cap II Fund

Montpelier, VT-based Sentinel Investments has liquidated its Sentinel Mid Cap II Fund (SYVCX)and transferred all of the fund’s assets into the Sentinel Mid Cap Fund (SNTNX), effective April 12.

 A spokesperson for the firm was not immediately available to comment on the liquidation.

The Sentinel Mid Cap II Fund invested in U.S. companies with market capitalizations between $500 million to $10 billion. The Sentinel Mid Cap Fund launched in 1969 and managed some $95 million as of the end of December 2012.

Sentinel has been on a hiring binge as of late having promoted three of its portfolio managers last month as well as hiring Jason Ronovech, as lead portfolio manager of both the Sentinel Small Company Fund (SAGWX) and Sentinel Mid Cap Fund.
