TCW Preps EM Fund

The TCW Group is readying an emerging markets fund to add to its short list of emerging markets funds.

The firm is prepping Class I and N shares of the TCW Emerging Markets Multi-Asset Opportunities Fund to launch within the next few months, according to a filing. The fund will bet on debt and equity securities. Up to 15% of the fund’s net assets may be invested in illiquid securities.

The fund will be managed by Penelope Foley and David Robbins, who both currently manages the TCW Emerging Markets Income Fund (TGEIX, TGINX) and the TCW Emerging Markets Local Currency Income Fund (TGWIX, TGWNX).

In February 2013, The Carlyle Group acquired TCW from Société Générale.
