$525M Independent Firm Moves to LPL's Hybrid Platform

Brown Wealth Management Group has left Wells Fargo for LPL Financial's hybrid RIA platform, Stratos Wealth Partners, according to LPL.

Brown Wealth Management, a primarily fee-based firm focused on high-net-worth investors, has $525 million in assets under management. The firm is led by President Jeffrey Brown and supported by advisors Patrick Ford and Tyler Morris, the firm says. Along with two additional staffers, Allison Williams, who will serve as chief operating officer, has also made the move to LPL, according to the firm.

Prior to joining Wells Fargo in 2003, Brown worked for Prudential, Morgan Stanley and American Express Financial Advisors, according to FINRA. He started his career in financial securities with IDS Life Insurance in 1996, BrokerCheck records show.

Both Ford and Morris worked with Brown while he was at Wells Fargo, according to FINRA. Morris has previous experience with Thirvent Investments.

"LPL's open-architecture platform enables us to provide clients with objective financial advice and access to a wide range of financial products and services and non-proprietary investment solutions," Brown says. "And the versatility and integration of LPL's technology platform enables us to readily access each client's complete financial picture in order to provide truly comprehensive financial planning."

LPL Financial's super OSJ Independent Advisor Alliance recently lured a firm with $300 million in AUM.
