Waddell & Reed Grabs Advisors with $275M

Waddell & Reed picked up advisors with $270 million in combined AUM, the firm said.

Donald Logan, Jason Hupp and Maureen Zeugin moved to Waddell & Reed from Edward Jones, where they oversaw a combined $74 million in client assets, Waddell & Reed said in a statement. Logan was with Edward Jones since 2008, Hupp since 2009 and Zeugin 2010, according to FINRA BrokerCheck records.

Two other advisors, who each were managing more than $70 million in client assets, also signed on with Waddell & Reed, the firm said. Derek Greef moved from Ameriprise and had previously worked for Merrill Lynch, UBS and Lehman Brothers, BrokerCheck records show. Church had been with Cetera, and prior to that worked for Wells Fargo, BrokerCheck records show.

Waddell & Reed also added Carlos Malagon, who managed more than $24 million in client assets at PNC Bank, and David Altwerger, who moved over from Morgan Stanley. His client assets while at the wirehouse were not disclosed.

Malagnon was 3 years with PNC and prior to that 5 with Ameriprise, according to BrokerCheck. Altwerger was with Morgan since 2010.

Waddell and Reed reports it has more than $104.4 billion in total AUM firm-wide, and nearly 1,800 financial advisors working from 160 offices nationally.
