RBC recruited a Merrill Lynch adviser who had overseen $150 million in client assets, according to a spokeswoman.
Sanya Mulhern joined RBC's office in Palm Desert, Calif., where she reports to Ryan Wilson, director of the branch.

Mulhern started her career at Merrill 12 years ago, according to FINRA BrokerCheck records. Prior to becoming an adviser, Mulhern was a U.S. Army reservist serving as a Russian linguist, according to RBC.
Also making the move with her is Courtney Taylor, a senior registered client associate.
A spokeswoman for Merrill Lynch declined to comment on the departures.
This isn't the first time this year that RBC has recruited a Merrill adviser for the Palm Desert office. In January, the Canadian firm
RBC's U.S. wealth management unit currently has $271 billion in client assets and 1,900 financial advisors, according to the firm.
