A Morgan Stanley team managing more than $300 million in assets left the wirehouse to join Raymond James Financial Services, the firm's independent broker-dealer.
Advisors Craig Houck and Richard Schooley now operate as Dogwood Wealth Advisors with offices in Atlanta and Savannah, Ga. They generated $1.85 million in annual fees and commissions while at Morgan Stanley.
Alyssa Donaldson, director of client services, also moved with the advisors.
Houck said in a statement that they made the move to the independent side because of a "desire to have more control over the structure of our practice."
According to FINRA records, Houck had been with Morgan since earning his Series 7 in 2001. Schooley, who is based in Savannah, joined Morgan in 1998.
Recruiting at Raymond James & Associates, the firm's employee side, also has picked up momentum this year. Last week, a $900 million team moved over from J.P. Morgan Securities. Earlier this month, two teams came over from Wells Fargo. A team with $220 million in AUM and one with $116 million joined Raymond James in St. Louis and Louisville, Ky. respectively.
Across both channels, Raymond James has more than 6,200 financial advisors. The firm has about $480 billion in total client assets.
