Advantus Fund Preps Institutional Shares

St. Paul, Minn.-based Advantus Capital Management is adding an institutional share class of the Advantus Strategic Dividend Income Fund to its lineup within the next three months.

The fund bets on dividend-paying equity securities, including common and preferred stocks of utilities, infrastructure-related, real estate-related and other companies. It is managed by Joseph R. Betlej, Lowell R. Bolken and Craig M. Stapleton.

Advantus is a subsidiary of Securian Financial Group, Inc. and currently manages more than $24 billion in assets.
