Buffalo Fund Widens its Range

The $387 million, 4-Star Buffalo Science and Technology Fund (BUFTX) will be renamed the Buffalo Discovery Fund effective June 29.

According to co-manager Dave Carlsen, the fund’s strategy has always been to find and invest in companies that can develop new ideas to solve problems, increase productivity or efficiency, or otherwise improve the quality of life. “We differed from most other technology funds in that respect," he said.

"We wanted to change the name so that investors would not mistake us for some of the more narrowly defined funds that use ‘technology’ in their name. We search any industry, sector, or market capitalization for the great innovators that make up our portfolio.”

The fund will retain its ticker, management team, and strategy, changing only the name. It sports an expense ratio of 103 basis points.
