Dreyfus Launches Sustainability Fund

Dreyfus has launched the Dreyfus Global Sustainability Fund, linked to the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index. It is the first time a U.S. mutual fund has tracked the index.

Dow Jones Indexes President Michael A. Petronella said the firm’s sustainability indexes have continued to gain traction since their launch in 1999 due to “growing interest among market participants in ways to incorporate sustainability principles in their investment strategies and portfolios.”

Dow Jones has licensed its sustainability indexes for 70 funds, which in turn have raised more than $7 billion in assets.
