Equinox, Campbell Offer Taste of Managed Futures

A managed futures stalwart is making its way into the mutual fund world via a trust.

Campbell & Co., which opened its doors in 1972, is teaming up with Equinox Fund Management to launch the Equinox Campbell Strategy Fund, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing.

The portfolio management team for the fund, which will bet on a diversified set of assets including global interest rates, stock indices, currencies and commodities, is managed by Richard Bornhoft, Brian Bell, Ajay Dravid and Rufus Rankin. It charges a management fee of 75 basis points.

Michel Serieyssol, Managing Director at Equinox, was not immediately available to comment on the new fund.

Campbell currently manages some $3 billion in assets, which is on the high end for commodity trading advisors.
