Combined, the three advisors oversaw $281 million in client assets.

The Tango group, made up of Anthony Tango and his son Carmine bolted from Merrill Lynch in January. They joined Janney in Bedminster, New Jersey.

Anthony Tango specializes in investment management services for employee benefit and retirement plans, institutional accounts, and high-net-worth individuals, according to the firm. The younger Tango handles portfolio analysis, economic research, analytics and client reviews, according to his new employer.

The elder Tango has 32 years of experience, according to FINRA BrokerCheck records. He had been with Merrill Lynch for 11 years while his son had been with the wirehouse for six years.

A second wirehouse advisor joined Janney in nearby Red Bank, New Jersey. Tahj Holden was previously with Morgan Stanley.

Holden has seven years of industry experience, the majority of which was spent at Morgan Stanley, according to BrokerCheck. Prior to joining the financial industry, Holden was a member of the University of Maryland’s NCAA basketball team that won the National Championship in 2002, according to his new employer.

Holden is not the first to leave Morgan Stanley for Janney this year. A five-woman advisory team, which oversaw $335 million, joined Janney in Brewyn, Pennsylvania.

Spokeswomen from Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley didn’t reply to comment on the moves.
