JPMorgan Picks Fortis Manager for Debt Team

JPMorgan Asset Management has named former Fortis Investment manager Pierre-Yves Bareau to lead its emerging markets debt unit, following last week's departure of two long-time emerging market bond managers at JPMorgan.

Bareau has nearly 20 years of experience in developing-world fixed-income portfolios, the last 10 of which were spent as Fortis' chief investment officer for emerging market debt.

Bareau's "deep knowledge of the global markets, proven disciplined approach to evaluating opportunities and added focus on emerging market corporate debt will expand J.P. Morgan's reach and capabilities in identifying value in emerging markets," said Bob Michele, global chief investment officer for fixed income.
