A former J.P. Morgan Securities adviser who managed $244 million in client assets has left for Merrill Lynch, the firm says.
Adviser Amanda Barclay generated about $1.9 million in production while at J.P. Morgan, according to the wirehouse. She worked for J.P. Morgan for nine years before making the move in May.
She now operates from Merrill Lynch's office in Great Neck, N.Y. That branch serves as the firm’s main office for the North Shore of Long Island, according to Merrill.
In a press release, Market Executive Nikolas Totaro says Barclay was recruited for her reputation in the industry and expected ability to leverage the firm’s resources to help clients solve complex financial issues.
Barclay has 17 years of experience in the industry, having started at UBS as a sales assistant in 1999, according to Merrill Lynch. She began her advisory career there five years later in 2004, according to FINRA BrokerCheck records. Barclay made two more career moves before joining J.P. Morgan in 2012.
A J.P. Morgan spokeswoman declined to comment on her departure.
