Mutual of Omaha Rolling Out 401(k) Boot Camp

Mutual of Omaha is holding 401(k) sales seminars, or boot camps, for advisers to 401(k) plans over the next year. The first six cities where the seminars will be held are Lansing, Mich., Pittsburgh, Orlando, Minneapolis, Kansas City and Dallas. Following the seminars, participants will receive a year’s worth of educational e-newsletters, and access to webinars and tools.

The seminar will help advisers know what to look for on the Form 5500 that plans must file with the IRS and DOL, how to generate referrals, how to conduct an excellent first meeting and close the sale, and how to stand out from other 401(k) advisers and consultants.

Mutual of Omaha is promoting the course as a $5,000 value but asking participants to only pay a $300 registration fee. The firm is finding prospects through plan administrators.

Charlie Epstein, founder of The 401k Coach Program, who is conducting the classes, said: “With Mutual of Omaha’s unique product offering, we are able to bring another layer of resources to our curriculum. The 401k Coach Program and Mutual of Omaha’s common goal of providing plan sponsors and participants with successful retirement outcomes will make this collaboration a huge success.”
