MutualFunds.com, Aimed at Investors and Advisors, Plans Fall Start

MutualFunds.com of Boston will launch its website this fall as a mutual fund site targeting three audiences - investors, mutual fund companies and financial advisors.

"The company aims to be the premiere unbiased portal dedicated to the $7 trillion mutual funds marketplace," said a company statement.

The MutualFunds.com site will offer free and subscription-based services including investment guidance for investors, online education programs for financial advisors and an employment page where mutual fund companies can post job openings and job seekers can post resumes.

Nvest, LP, the holding company for the Nvest Funds of Boston, has invested an undisclosed amount in MutualFunds.com. However, it has relinquished its ownership of the domain name, MutualFunds.com, said Abe Gorelick, senior vice president of MutualFunds.com.

"Our goal is to create a more knowledgeable, more efficient and wealthier mutual funds marketplace," said Bruce Speca, president and CEO of MutualFunds.com. Speca, formerly president and CEO of Nvest, left the company last year to start the new firm.
