“Wally has made an incredible impact on our business as director of our Minneapolis complex,” said Tom Sagissor, president of RBC Wealth Management-U.S, in the statement. “His energy, deep understanding of the business and commitment to both our clients and advisers make him the perfect fit to lead RBC Wealth Management’s Central Division.”

Chapman's career in financial services dates back to the late 1980s, according to RBC. Before entering the industry, he played four years of hockey for the University of Minnesota before playing two years of minor league hockey.

RBC also recently appointed two new complex directors. David Moskovitz was named director of the firm's Seattle complex. He will succeed Mike Nielsen, who will retire on October 31, according to the firm.

Moskovitz will oversee 75 advisers at five branches. He joined RBC in 2005 after working for UBS and D.A. Davidson, according to FINRA BrokerCheck records. He began his career with Piper Jaffray in 1997, BrokerCheck records show.

RBC also named Michael Melton director of its Southern California complex, according to the firm. Melton will be taking over for former complex director Ken Sullivan. Sullivan will be transitioning to a new divisional sales director role.

Melton will oversee 10 branches and more than 80 advisers. He came to RBC in 2013 from Morgan Stanley and previously worked for Citigroup and UBS, according to BrokerCheck.
