Simple Alts Snags Ex-Hedgie

Alternative mutual fund shop Simple Alternatives has added Clark Jones as a portfolio manager expanding the investment team managing the firms’ flagship S1 Fund (SONEX). Jones joins Simple Alternatives from hedge fund shop Tudor Investment Corporation where he was a long/short equity portfolio manager.

Prior to Tudor Investment, Jones managed a long/short equity portfolio at Millenium Partners, based in New York City.

“There’s a growing preference for investors to seek alternatives to traditional hedge fund investments where the higher level of transparency and liquidity can also be potential benefits,” stated Jones. “I look forward to working with the investment team building upon their strong foundation as a leading independent firm focused on the liquid alternative space.”

The S1 Fund, a multi-manager fund, was launched in September 2010 and manages some $79 million as of April 1. It has exposure to equity long/short, global macro and event driven strategies.
