UBS hires $5B advisor team from JPMorgan

An advisor team overseeing $5 billion in client assets has joined UBS Private Wealth Management after a decade at J.P. Morgan.

The six-person team, led by advisors Brian Beraha and Vicente del Rio, will focus on ultra-high-net-worth families and individuals at UBS Private Wealth Management in South Florida, according to the firm. Joining Del Rio and Beraha from J.P. Morgan Private Bank is advisor Horacio S. Aguirre, senior wealth strategy associates Jared Pillar and Alexis Audisio, and client service associate Michelle Gonzalez.

They will report to UBS Private Wealth Management’s South Florida complex director Karl Ruppert and work closely with Richard Suss, the downtown Miami branch manager at UBS Wealth Management USA.

I’m confident that Brian, Vincente and their team will do a great job helping clients reach their goals.”

Del Rio started his industry career with J.P. Morgan in 2010 and has worked alongside Beraha since moving to the firm from Merrill Lynch in 2013, where he began his financial services career two years prior, according to FINRA BrokerCheck records.

Aguirre had also previously been with J.P. Morgan since he started his industry career in 2013, where he most recently focused on building customized portfolios as an investment specialist with the firm, UBS said.

UBS most recently lured a top-ranked advisor from Merrill Lynch with $650 million in client assets.

The firm’s Americas wealth management unit is home to 6,305 advisors who oversee approximately $1.6 trillion in combined assets, according to its fourth quarter earnings report.
